Planning / Cost

What shapes the cost of an elevator refresh?

There is no useful one-size-fits-all price for a commercial elevator project. A grounded estimate starts with the number of cabs, the surfaces involved and what those surfaces need before a new finish can be applied.

The factors behind an estimate

Cab count and dimensions, landing coverage, surface condition, substrate preparation, finish selection, site access and schedule all affect project cost. Multi-cab scopes may be staged differently from a single cab. Drawings or current photos can help the team understand the request, but a site-specific review may still be needed.

Compare like with like

When comparing resurfacing and replacement, align the scope: which surfaces are included, what preparation is required, what is excluded, how access is managed and how the elevator outage is planned. A lower initial scope is not equivalent to a full replacement specification.

Why owners consider resurfacing

Where the existing decorative surfaces are serviceable, resurfacing may avoid some demolition and replacement of those finishes. Potential savings vary by property and scope and should not be assumed before review. There is no universal percentage or guaranteed quote.

What to share for a project quote

Provide the property location, building type, approximate elevator count, areas of interest and desired timeline. The Resurface Wraps team can follow up with questions and outline a suitable next step.
